Munjal Shah to Discuss Generative AI’s Potential in Healthcare at Digital Health Summit

Munjal Shah, CEO of startup Hippocratic AI, will speak at the 3rd Annual West Coast Digital Healthcare Innovation Summit on February 6-7 in La Jolla, California. Shah will discuss the transformative potential of using generative artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare in his talk.

Munjal Shah co-founded Hippocratic AI in 2022 to develop large language models for non-diagnostic health applications such as patient education, chronic care management, and administrative assistance. The company aims to help address shortages of healthcare professionals by using AI to expand access to quality care.

The annual Digital Health Summit brings together innovators and leaders in digital healthcare, from entrepreneurs to medical professionals. It offers an ideal opportunity for Shah to share his perspectives on integrating AI into health services. His presentation is expected to cover topics such as:

– The ethical considerations of using AI in healthcare

– The importance of safety and reliability for AI-driven medical applications

– How AI could help bridge gaps in equity and access to care

In addition to generative AI’s role in healthcare, the Digital Health Summit will explore other relevant topics. These include pursuing contracts with major health systems, financing trends in digital health, the regulatory landscape’s influence in an election year, and reinventing clinical trials with digital health tech. Other focuses include value-based care, combining health tech and fintech to improve affordability, and incentivizing healthy behaviors. The summit will conclude by presenting the 2024 Digital Healthcare Innovator Award.

Shah’s talk comes as his company, Hippocratic AI, works to develop safe “Health General Intelligence” capable of dramatically improving healthcare accessibility worldwide. The company was founded in 2022 by physicians, hospital administrators, Medicare experts, and AI researchers from organizations like El Camino Health, Johns Hopkins, and Google. Hippocratic AI has raised $67 million in funding from leading healthcare investors like General Catalyst and Andreessen Horowitz.

Before launching Hippocratic AI, Munjal Shah built several machine learning and computer vision startups that Google and Alibaba later acquired. He has made over 40 angel investments in startups and early-stage venture funds. Shah holds computer science degrees from UC San Diego and Stanford, with a focus on AI.

His presentation at the 3rd Annual West Coast Digital Healthcare Innovation Summit will offer valuable insights from the frontlines of developing ethical, safe AI solutions to transform healthcare.
